In 1936, Mr. William Loewen began repairing and selling pianos to augment a bicycle repair business that slowed down during the cold Winnipeg winter months. Mr. Loewen's passion for piano finally encouraged him to concentrate all his efforts into developing his piano business. The store was on William Street at two different addresses and then early in 1961 moved to a new location at 1330 Portage Avenue.
